Legendary Rock guitarist Jeff Beck has passed away at the age of 74 after contracting bacterial meningitis 

Musicians from all over the world have been paid tribute to the Grammy award-winning guitarist from Surrey, who rose to fame with rock band The Yardbirds and then  went on to have a successful solo career involving hard rock, jazz, blues and even opera.

Jeff won eight Grammy awards during his career, and released a collaborative album with Johnny Depp last year after the Hollywood actors Court case with ex wife Amber Heard.

Ozzy Osbourne tweeted ” I can’t express how saddened i am to hear of  jeff becks passing. What a terrible loss for his family, friends and many fans. It was such an honour to have known Jeff and an incredible honour to have had him play on my most recent album”

 

Other artists such as Queen, Jon Bon Jovi, Mick Jagger and even Sir Rod Stewart have paid Tribute with Sir Rod Stewart saying:

” Jeff Beck was on another planet. He took me and Ronnie Wood to the USA in the late 60’s in his band the Jeff Beck Group and we haven’t looked back since. He was one of the few guitarists that when playing live would actually listen to me sing and respond. Jeff you were the greatest, my man. Thank you for everything RIP”

 

Jeffs passing was announced on twitter by the family.
